Word Problems

Using our newly-created learning spaces, BOPDs composed word problems about the area of their space. Using the application Google Drawing, they wrote the word problem and made sure to add clue words that may help determine what operation was needed. They also added the shape of their learning space and supplied the known numbers which determined the equation for the problem. Once completed, pairs exchanged word problems and sought a solution. The area of learning space is now displayed and is useful information in deciding what evidence and artifact will fit onto the space.

My Learning Space

When we redesigned our classroom space, we discovered the wall by the windows! This inspired us to create spaces that will display artifacts of who we are as learners. We broke into teams and planned how to divide the space alloted to us. Some teams used irregular shapes, while others used grids. There was also one that created a space shaped like a pizza!
