Reading Identities

Ms Montilla was excited to see her class back from the break. She shared that when she saw the movie Kung Fu Panda 3, it reminded her of the BOPDs because there is scene where the pandas give their chi, or their energy, to help another. It was a student who pointed out that pandas gave their chi, BOPDs give the blaze.  The pandas gave their chi by acknowledging their identities and again this is a connection to our class. This week we thought about our identity as readers and once composed, we played a game of trying to match the statement with the person who wrote it. This gave us the chance to get to know each other's identities. We added the printed statements onto our identity frames.

Identity Frames

Our identity frames contain facts all about who we are. We looked up the etymology of the word, "identity" and it comes from the French word, "identite" meaning sameness or oneness. Our identity is who we are, inside out, from any angle.
