Physical affection

To get us really thinking about physical affection, we looked at photographs and used the thinking routine called 'See Think Wonder".
We noticed that the photos showed touching that made people feel loved and cared for.We also noticed that this happened not just within families but also among friends, between people who know each other. We connected that our class tradition of giving each other the 'blaze", when we outstretch our arms and open our palms towards each other, is a form of affection but is not physical since there is no touch involved. BOPDs cited hugs, high fives and fist bumps as some of the ways to show physical affection between friends. In the end, we drew our own pictures of what it looks like to us, and we shared our learning at the end of the lesson.
