Last week we thought about the word, 'advocate' and wondered about its meaning. Using graphs, we noticed that many of us are unsure. This week we listened a story about a girl who was an advocate for nature. This photo shows a student who used his reading strategy of substituting words to find meaning on the word, "advocate" and it led to a rich conversation that allowed us to speak of examples. We extended our understanding by thinking of adults who advocate for us.
