Constructive Feedback

BOPDs refined the feedback that they share with classmates presenting about their passion projects. They choose a criterion on which to focus and then use their learning cups to assess. They chose criteria based on what they think is important when you are presenting. The presenter is able to ask questions from them and receive the feedback with accuracy and tangible next steps. BOPDs tranferred this skill of choosing criteria to their own rubric to measure their learning about Physical Wellbeing.

Preparing for Sports Day

BOPDs welcomed ISM athletes as resource speakers. They wanted to find out how to prepare for Sports Day by inquiring about the choices the athletes made. Students formulated questions and used the application "Kahoot" that utilized their questions into a quiz. The replied became starting points of conversations. We noticed many things about their choices and we used this information to make our own in preparation for Sports Day.

The Interview

BOPDs trekked to the canteen to find out the state of canteen food at ISM. Along the way they were able to take photos and videos. The most important method was interviewing the people who were eating, buying or selling the food. We understand the value of good questions and we applied this skill when we approached people.

Sharing Expectations

The final step for our newly-launched passion projects is sharing your results. For this maiden try, we used Google Slides to record and present in an efficient and effective way. Preparing the slides also entailed following the writing process to guide our learning. The class viewed some presentations and asked, 'Is this presentation ready to be shared? Why or why not?"

Analyzing Information

After successfully gathering information about canteen food at ISM, BOPDs were tasked to analyze what they gathered. They shared their thinking and tweeted it so we can go back to it and discuss it as a class.

Stand tall for your belief

We tuned into beliefs when we listened to Mrs Phillips' read a story about a girl who stood tall for her beliefs.  We broke into two groups and searched for the meaning of the word 'believe'. Some used Google, another couple looked up the word in a dictionary, and yet another wrote a definition based on her own experiences. We focused on different parts of the story and cited the pages and pictures to prove our ideas.
