Reaching

We used the rays of our understanding map to qualify the last column on our class-created rubric. We made this connection because we know that we can show that we understand through different ways, and when we can, it means we have reached our goal. This symbol used to be in yellow but after we made the connection between this and our rubric, a group of us changed it into what it now means to us: The Blazing Orange Understanding Map.

Understanding

Ms Montilla brought out a puzzle of words and the class tried to make sense of it. It had something to do with understanding. One student said that understanding shows you are learning. They saw that the words indicated different ways to show you understand something so the class decided that those words should go all around the word,'understanding'. Today when we were learning how to use a Venn Diagram, a student commented that he still did not understand it clearly. The class used the understanding map to explain the use of a Venn Diagram and it helped everyone.
