300 Degrees

300 Degrees is how hot it gets down the hole that is needed to produce steam for energy. That fact alone was a clear message to students of how we can harness natural resources. BOPDs asked many clarifying questions throughout the presentation of Carl Willis, father of one of the BOPDs. He shared information and inspiration for us to think deeper about the energy that we use and how it is affecting the Earth. One student voluntarily shared feedback that might as well have described everyone's sentiment. Thank you for your time and energy, Carl!

BOPDs listend to two videos on energy and took notes. They shared and compared their notes with a friend and then Ms Montilla shared a problem she encountered when she rode the bus home with her two children. There were 4 passengers, 3 staff consisting of the driver, bus mother and security. The destination of the bus was a village that was 6.7 km away from ISM. This discussion immediately caused students to ask about the use of energy and led students to inquire about how they all travel home and how many kilometers their homes are from ISM.
