Fraction Word Problems

BOPDs had a chance to apply their learning on fractions by solving word problems created by their friends from another class, The Lightning Leopards. We started with a focus lesson inside our classroom that highlighted our skills based on the I CAN statements on fractions. Then we stepped out and went to the word problems that our friends displayed on the board outside their classroom. Each student chose a problem and wrote their solutions on their math notebooks. There were different reasons for the choice of problems but they all solved it to apply what they know about fractions. BOPDs also reflected about the way the problems were written and this also helped to come up with solutions. Thank you Lightning Leopards for giving us this opportunity to challenge ourselves!
