Day 1
Ms Montilla shared a set of notes that she bought in California over the summer. The notes were special to her because the person who made the notes, made them to express gratitude. Ms Montilla did a similar gesture. She shared one of the notes from her collection and as a class, we read closely to find out what the passage meant. We will continue to look at this tomorrow.
Day 2
Ms Montilla started off by sharing a photograph of a bedroom. Students investigated and looked closely to make a conjecture about whose room it was. They gave guesses and statements based on what they saw on the photograph. After this exercise, Ms Montilla flashed the same text from yesterday and asked students to talk in pairs while applying the same way they analyzed the photograph.
