Durign readers' choices we realised that when we write our choices beforehand, it helps us focus on the task. It becomes learning intentions and makes us mindful of our goals. Following that practice, this time around we ended our lesson by assessing our understanding of what it means to focus and successfully make choices to become better readers. Armed with our formative assessment cups, now bearing our blazing orange level, we reflected and shared how successful we think we were during this time. We looked around and found that all of us had different levels of understanding and once again, we spoke about the importance of assessments and how it helps us know our next steps.
