BOPDs learned all about mass. We explored what it is, how we measure it and how it affects our lives. It was interesting to find out how to measure the mass of an object using a balance. We applied our skills of subtraction to compute for the mass of an object. We also estimated and offered other ways to determine the amount of grams an object has. Using those three measurements as reference we explored the ESL room for objects that may match 2, 30, and 70 grams. We returned to the class and checked on some of our estimates. We also tested the marble measuring 30 grams on our contraptions and found that it meant having to change some part of our creation.
